This, Is Love

Last week, a really good friend of mine sent me a text that said "I just discovered 2x giant holes in my only pair of hand knit socks circa 5 years ago. Can I mend them?"

Following the message, was this image.

Valentine's Stripes for Valentine's Day
Wait a minute now... I knit those socks! And I completely forgot about them! And to see that they have been loved for the past five years to the point of big-toe-sized holes... makes me more than willing to cast on a new pair for the girl.

The holes in these socks my friends... is love.

And replacing them is the least that I can do.

So on this Valentine's Day, I wish you nothing but the kind of love that all the hand knit socks like these ones have received.

Big love to you.
And to your knitting.

Not just today, but everyday.

Awe. That is love. It's got to feel great knowing that your friend adores these socks so much, she's taking every effort to preserve them. She definitely deserves more socks. :-D

It's why we knit them and give them away. Love.

Don't you think there should be something interesting one could do with the "legs" of handknit socks with holes in them?
